Wild Wonders with Brooke (2021 - 2021)

Pangolins are the most trafficked mammals being traded for their scales. Brooke meets a pangolin rehabilitation specialist and learns about their fascinating biology, the plight of the pangolin, and the people fighting to save them.

Brooke joins Julian Fennessy from Giraffe Conservation Foundation to go on a mission to learn about giraffe populations in Africa. She learns about the species while they capture them in order to fit them with GPS collars.

More frequently, wildlife comes into conflict with humans. Brooke meets up with a wildlife veterinarian to capture and move these animals safely to avoid conflict.

Brooke learns about what ecosystem services bees perform and what it takes to maintain healthy bee populations. With the help of a bee removal specialist, Brooke safely moves the bees without harming them and extracts her own jar of honey.

Brooke has handled large game, but it's time for her to learn the different techniques used to transport smaller species. Brooke travels to Kwawula Game Estate and Ballito to help relocate two small species: warthogs and bushbuck.

Rhinos are critically endangered and often poached for their horns, leaving babies orphaned. Brooke visits a wildlife sanctuary dedicated to rehabilitating and protecting rhino to learn how to care for these dinosaurs.
